Dr. Paluzzi practices bariatric surgery and has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery - a minimally invasive operation that allows the patient to have the benefit of major surgery but without the discomfort of a large incision. The results of utilizing the laparoscopic approach are a shorter hospital stay and a more rapid recovery. Dr. Hughes joined Dr. Paluzzi in 2003 and is subspecialty trained in vascular and thoracic surgery. His subspecialty interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery provided a sound foundation for his bariatric practice utilizing the Lap Band System.
